The Ghana program is currently on hold to new applicants. The Government of Ghana recently announced a decision to temporarily suspend processing of all adoption cases. Dillon International began a pilot program to place children from Ghana in 2011.  The country, formerly known as the Gold Coast, is on the coast of West Africa, between Togo and Cote d’Ivoire, with Burkina Faso to the north. It has the distinction of two firsts - the first country in Africa where Europeans traded and the first African nation to become independent. 1.1 million children in Ghana are orphans or have lost one parent due to poverty or AIDS.  We celebrated our first arrival home in 2011, and are looking forward to the arrival of more children soon.

We are continuing to seek families who can be flexible, are open to older child adoption, and have an understanding that since this is still a new program to expect changes in their adoption process.

Children Eligible for Adoption from this Program:
• Boys and girls ages 3 years and older
• Children with minor to moderate special needs
