Ways to Help

Become a Volunteer:

Adult Volunteers - Dillon’s heritage events could not happen without the sacrificial efforts of countless volunteers. Adult volunteers are needed in every capacity at our heritage camps, weekends and family day events.  We applaud you for taking part this year!  If you would like to volunteer, please fill out the Volunteer section and background check found in the adult registration section in the heritage camps online registration.   If you have children who are under 4 years old and will need childcare while you volunteer, please refer to the nursery section in the heritage camps online registration.   Fees for childcare are waived while you are volunteering; however, your child must be registered for childcare before the event.  We will send you a schedule of your volunteer hours and assignments prior to the heritage event.

Adolescent Volunteers - Teen involvement is a vital part to our heritage events.  We hope that you will consider volunteering as Teen Counselor or CAP at our heritage events. Teens must have graduated the 7th grade before being accepted into the CAP program. Teen Counselor/CAP training is on the Wednesday before the first day of camp. Training starts at 11:00 am and goes until about 2:00 pm. Lunch will be provided for the teens during the training. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out the CAP/Teen Counselor Section in the heritage camps online registration.

Open your Home:
If you have an extra bedroom that you would be willing to offer to an out-of-town camp family as a place to stay in lieu of a hotel, please contact our Camp Director. Saving on hotel fees could make all the difference for an out-of-town family’s ability to attend a heritage camp this year.

Donate to the Camp Scholarship Fund:
All children should have the chance to feel the “heritage camp experience!”  Many children would be unable to attend a Dillon heritage event without the generosity of others.   Donations to our Camp Scholarship Fund allow us to provide scholarships for children unable to attend a heritage camp because of the financial hardship placed on their families by covering their camp application fees. The Camp Scholarship Fund also awards special "family grants" to assist out-of-town families with their hotel fees so that the whole family may attend camp together. The Camp Scholarship Fund has also been used to provide scholarships for teen counselors with financial need to cover their application fees so that they can participate as a positive role model for the younger children at camp.

If you know of a family who needs financial assistance to attend camp or you would like to apply for a grant from the Camp Scholarship Fund for your family, please download our Camp Scholarship Application. For questions, regarding camp scholarship's please contact Rosalyn or call 918.749.4600.
